Thank You from Nicolet Plastics, Inc. and The Lakewood Area Chamber of Commerce.
Heart-felt thanks to everyone who helped make our 2nd Annual Walk/Run Challenge for Life another success story! We had another fantastic group of walkers and runners who were an inspiration to all who attended.

Unlike our first year, the weather this year was absolutely perfect! It was a cool, sunny day with a quick warm-up by race’s end. We had approximately 127 happy faces when all was said and done. We hope to see them all again next year. The food tent had people lined up waiting for their tasty brats and chicken wings. The exhibition booths and silent auction gave everyone something to look at. And again, the great music provided by Dr. K was the best! A very special thanks to all who purchased the Packer Pre-Game Raffle tickets. Our winner was Adam Zillmer of Townsend. Adam and his guest will surely have a day to remember!

We are looking at making more improvements for next year by adding a kid’s race, price structure for kids/adults/families and more advertising. We have also moved the date back to June, tentatively looking at June 18th, 2005. If you would like a reminder or updates sent to you, please send your e-mail address and comments to walkrun@nicoletplastics.com. If you have any thoughts or ideas please feel free to fill out our suggestion form.

Nicolet Plastics and The Lakewood Area Chamber of Commerce are proud to have the opportunity to support our local emergency departments. They are such a vital part of our community. The volunteers who manage the Doty, Riverview, Mountain, Lakewood and Townsend Fire Departments, the Mountain and Lakewood/Townsend Community Ambulance and the Nicolet Search and Rescue Team are dedicated to the safety and well being of our area residents and vacationers. All of these groups were represented in the planning and race day events, providing all the necessary manpower to make our event a safe and successful day. We applaud you all.

Maiden Lake is a breath-taking scene; its beauty shared by all the participants. The residents who live around the lake were out cheering people on as well as offering refreshments!
